Our Family

We are a family of four who understand the complexities and challenges that come with relocating. Having navigated our own moves, we used our professional skills and experience to establish McCosh & Co Property Consultants to support others in making significant transitions with ease.

Relocating with children presents unique challenges that require careful consideration. The process affects not only the adults involved but also the younger family members who may find themselves in unfamiliar surroundings. Therefore, prioritising the right area and schooling options is crucial to ensure a smooth transition and overall family happiness.

When selecting a new location, factors such as safety, community amenities, and access to parks and recreational facilities are key. Children thrive in environments that offer opportunities for play and social interaction. Areas with family-friendly neighbourhoods typically foster a sense of belonging and community support, easing the adjustment period for everyone.

One of the most significant aspects of relocation is finding suitable educational institutions. The quality of schools in the area can greatly influence a child's development and well-being. It is essential to conduct research on local schools, including their academic performance, extracurricular activities, and the availability of special educational needs support. Visiting schools personally and speaking to staff can provide valuable insights into the environment and culture, helping parents to make informed decisions.

Furthermore, the emotional wellbeing of children during a move should not be overlooked. Transitioning to a new home, school, and social network can lead to a range of emotions. It's important for parents to engage their children in the process, discussing the move openly and encouraging them to express their feelings. Involving children in the search for a new home and school can foster a sense of ownership and excitement about the changes ahead.

Ultimately, a successful relocation hinges on careful planning and consideration of the entire family’s needs. By focusing on the right area and quality schools, families can create a supportive environment that promotes growth, happiness, and a positive adaptation to their new life. Establishing these foundations will contribute significantly to the family’s overall satisfaction and stability in their new location.
